Edwin Walker(b.Burton-on-Trent 1984-) is a fine artist from the UK. Edwin feels that it is his duty as an artist to comment and raise questions with reference to topical issues and popular culture.
Through a complex method of image making derived from traditional painting techniques, Edwin invents, composes and produces striking narrative pieces that refer to a number of topical subjects from exploding suicide bombers to tormented celebrities. Throughout his artistic practice Edwin goes about injecting a heightened sense of the instantaneous and hysteria into his paintings, often inspired by the European baroque style of the 17th century, therefore rendering truly unique ecstatic friezes. Edwin has always been compelled to make images and believes that the ancient practice of drawing and painting is still a relevant means of expression today. Edwin studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art in London,UK. At the present time he lives and works in the south of France.
